Unbiased Hands On Experience With Consumers
Nothing is more powerful than hands on experience with a product when it is being tested. We chose to take a different approach and for two consecutive days, we took the stroller to four public locations to get some feedback from mothers with two young infants, much as we did with the Solo model except that was for one child, not two. It seemed tough at first at each location to find mothers with two infants that would be suitable for the testing, but with lots of patience, I finally discovered a family with the proper age infants who were willing to take part in my evaluation process. The infants ages ranged from nine weeks to seven months old. We explained to the mothers that we were performing an evaluation process to get real feedback from mothers with a first-hand experience using the stroller.
What was most interesting in this testing was the generous amount of cooperation. In addition, I was literally overwhelmed with mothers who were inquiring where they could find this stroller. It seems that most of them had family members who had need of a twin stroller. I even had a father at the last location offer me more money than the retail cost of the stroller just to buy it on the spot! I explained he could get it for a lesser price elsewhere, but he insisted he wanted THIS one. In order to remain consistent with all protocols of our evaluation process, I explained to the man I was sorry but although I appreciated the offer, I simply could not break protocols. He promptly patted me on the back and expressed he had the highest respect for my "remaining steadfast in my moral integrity". I will admit it was tempting...
A Clearer Explanation Of The Individual Ratings
Before I get into the definition of how each individual rating for this product was created, I will share an additional point of interest. The evaluation sheets filled out by all of the hands-on consumer evaluators were the very best I have read to date this year. Not a single negative comment or opinion of any kind. Nothing but praise for the Unity Sport Twin Stroller. I expect Baby Planet will be getting a lot of orders very soon.
While other organizations will define their ratings in a "blanket" method which simply defines each rating in an overall usage, we choose to take a different approach. Each individual rating that was assigned to this product, based upon our evaluation process, is briefly explained as to how that specific rating score was reached. The ratings for this product are listed below.
Design Quality: Rating Level 5 - Baby Planet was not a company to skimp on detail and structure in the design quality of the Unity Sport Lightweight Twin Stroller. With an aluminum frame with sleek, futuristic styling, it is a premium product to evaluate. The cloth used for the seat covering was top quality with consistent quality stitching and comfort. The stroller has met ASTM standards and is JPMA Certified. The rear center wheel and overall maneuverability were nothing but the greatest!
Durability: Rating Level 5 - With repeated basic stress tests (non-lab testing), which test material strength, fabric, joint, hinge, and springs, the Solo Deluxe showed no signs of possible failure from average consumer usage. The wheels were exceptional with plenty of flex in multiple directions which subdues vibration and bumps to the spine of an infant while in the stroller. This in turn adds a dramatic increase to the level of overall durability of the stroller. Many of the plastic wheel strollers are built poorly and the durability level is the very minimum, but not so with the Unity Sport.
Ease Of Use: Rating Level 5 - When it comes to ease of use, the Unity Sport was nothing but the very best! With the ultra-lightweight aluminum frame, a mother can easily pickup, open, fold-up, and close the stroller with minimum effort. As the mothers who had hands-on experience with the stroller unanimously expressed, they were amazed that the stroller could possibly have so many features, yet have such an incredible ease of use. For a twin stroller, the maneuverability was a veritable blessing to all of the women who experienced a test drive with the stroller. Everything is designed to be simple and easy to make use of. In regard to ease of use, the Unity Sport is well above average and scored the best possible in this portion of our rating.
Functionality: Rating Level 5 - Now a product can have all the bells and whistles in the world, yet if it is lacking in functionality and ease of using these functions, all is for naught with those fancy features. The Unity Sport really makes its mark in this regard. Every single feature has been carefully thought out, and easily accessible or made use of. The primary function that the mothers and our staff both identified was the simplistic design and functionality when it comes to opening and closing the stroller. Simple effort and the stroller is open or closed. This is perfect for mothers who are in a rush to get out of the rain or get on a bus. There are so many features to focus on functionality of the Unity Sport that it would take a good two to three pages pages in this review to be more detailed on the functionality of those features alone! After all, what else would you expect from Baby Planet products?
Visual Appeal: Rating Level 4 - The visual appeal is quite high with the Unity Sport. Extremely appealing color schemes and design combination draw your attention well; the sleek styling is quite eye-catching. In regard to the overall Visual Appeal, the Unity Sport is well above average and scored a very high score in our evaluation. With visual appeal, each part of the Unity Sport is carefully evaluated, but with the WOW! Factor, that is the first glance impression. Although the visual appeal was high, it fell short of a perfect score in this rating by a single digit.
WOW! Factor: Rating Level 5 - You know when you see something that really captures your attention, the first response you give is saying "WOW!". This makes the WOW! Factor rating an important part of our evaluation. In reviewing each of the consumer's opinions on our feedback sheets, it was a consistent fact that they were all impressed at first glance, but did not gain the full value of the stroller until after having spent some time looking it over more closely. After that, their opinions were off the scale in positive reaction.
